NB257 - Landing Craft Tank
Block fabrication, erection and outfitting works on a landing craft tank built at Anadolu Shipyard.
On the NB257 - Landing Craft Tank project, CMS AS carried out block fabrication and assembly to naval shipbuilding standards at ANADOLU TERSANESİ. With an experienced engineering team and certified welders, CMS AS safeguarded dimensional accuracy and weld quality across every work item. The zero-defect mindset expected in naval shipbuilding was reflected in every step of production.
Scope of Work
The engineering and fabrication items undertaken:
- Block Fabrication: Fabrication of ship blocks through CNC cutting and forming of steel plate and panel-line assembly.
- Erection & Assembly: Erection of the fabricated blocks — alignment and joining on the slipway/dock and application of seam welds.
- Outfitting: Outfitting works: fabrication and installation of piping, HVAC, deck equipment and accommodation systems.
Engineering & Execution
Engineering, planning and site teams worked in coordination, synchronising the block and outfitting workflow with the shipyard’s master build schedule. The traceability and quality-documentation requirements specific to naval projects were fully met. Coordination between workshop and site teams kept the work items progressing without interruption and safely.
Standards & Quality Assurance
All fabrication processes were performed under approved procedures and class-society survey. Welding was performed to WPS/WPQR-approved procedures and verified by NDT (UT/RT and visual inspection). Piping and outfitting systems were handed over after pressure testing and functional checks.
As a result, CMS AS served as a reliable supply partner in producing a platform that contributes to our national defence capability. The project was thus supported on schedule and to defence-industry quality expectations.
