Within NB135 - Elif Bayrak, CMS AS provided steel fabrication and assembly to class standards at BK TERSANECİLİK. With an experienced engineering team and certified welders, CMS AS safeguarded dimensional accuracy and weld quality across every work item. The balance of time, cost and quality was observed at every stage of the project.
Scope of Work
The engineering and fabrication items undertaken:
- Block Fabrication: Fabrication of ship blocks through CNC cutting and forming of steel plate and panel-line assembly.
- Erection & Assembly: Erection of the fabricated blocks — alignment and joining on the slipway/dock and application of seam welds.
- Outfitting: Outfitting works: fabrication and installation of piping, HVAC, deck equipment and accommodation systems.
- Piping: Pipe-spool fabrication, prefabrication to isometric drawings and onboard installation.
- Assembly: Precise installation of equipment and modules onto the vessel/structure.
Engineering & Execution
Engineering, planning and site teams worked in coordination, synchronising the block and outfitting workflow with the shipyard’s master build schedule. Transitions between work items were planned with site safety and efficiency in mind. Coordination between workshop and site teams kept the work items progressing without interruption and safely.
Standards & Quality Assurance
All fabrication processes were performed under approved procedures and class-society survey. Welding was performed to WPS/WPQR-approved procedures and verified by NDT (UT/RT and visual inspection). Piping and outfitting systems were handed over after pressure testing and functional checks.
As a result, a robust steel structure that will add value for years was delivered. The project was thus completed in line with budget and schedule targets. The experience CMS AS has accumulated in shipbuilding and industrial steel since 1990 makes it a trusted solution partner for shipyards.
