Blasting and painting works on 205 MW Karadeniz Powership Ayşegül Sultan at Sedef Shipyard.
On the KPS 10 - Karadeniz Powership Ayşegül Sultan (205 MW) floating power plant, CMS AS undertook heavy steel construction and outfitting fabrication at SEDEF TERSANESİ. With an experienced engineering team and certified welders, CMS AS safeguarded dimensional accuracy and weld quality across every work item. The structural durability required for uninterrupted power generation at sea was kept at the centre of fabrication.
Scope of Work
The engineering and fabrication items undertaken:
- Surface & Coating: Surface preparation (abrasive blasting) and protective coating for corrosion protection.
Engineering & Execution
Engineering, planning and site teams worked in coordination, synchronising the block and outfitting workflow with the shipyard’s master build schedule. The heavy-load and vibration-resistance requirements of power-plant structures were met in line with design criteria. Coordination between workshop and site teams kept the work items progressing without interruption and safely.
Standards & Quality Assurance
All fabrication processes were performed under approved procedures and class-society survey. Surface preparation was to ISO 8501-1 (Sa 2½) cleanliness and the protective coating applied to an ISO 12944 system.
As a result, a platform serving energy supply across different geographies was safely launched. The power-generation platform was thus delivered with reliable, durable steel structures.
