Shipbuilding is inherently a high-risk industry. We share how CMS AS builds and implements its zero accident culture.
Working conditions in shipyards require special safety protocols due to working at height, confined space entry, electrical hazards and heavy equipment use. At CMS AS, safety comes before production speed.
Training and Awareness
All employees undergo comprehensive OHS training at least twice a year. Newly hired personnel must complete a 40-hour orientation program before entering the field. 100% attendance at trainings is mandatory.
Personal Protective Equipment
Hard hats, safety shoes, goggles and full body safety harnesses for working at height are provided free of charge to all employees. Equipment is selected from CE-approved products tested in accredited laboratories.
Emergency Drills
Fire and evacuation drills are held 4 times a year and first-aid simulations twice a year. Reports are prepared after the drills to close gaps, and the results are shared with all employees.
