In response to increasing project capacity, CMS AS has added a new block production line and steel storage area to its Gebze production facility.
A 40% increase in shipbuilding projects over the past two years prompted CMS AS to expand its production capacity. The new enclosed block production line added to our main facility in Gebze has significantly increased our parallel production capacity.
New Facility Features
The new block workshop with 4,800 m² of enclosed space is equipped with a 150-tonne gantry crane, automated welding lines and integrated quality control stations. 480 solar panels were installed on the roof to meet 30% of the facility's energy needs.
Steel Storage Area
The open-air store, able to hold up to 5,000 tonnes of steel plate of different grades and sizes, was integrated with an automatic stock tracking system. Thanks to RFID tagging, the certificate and location information of each plate can be accessed instantly.
With the new facility coming online, the number of projects that can run simultaneously has risen from 3 to 6. This expansion will offer faster delivery and more competitive pricing to our existing and new customers.
