Ventilation Ducts
Custom ventilation systems for ships and industrial facilities
A Critical Shipboard System: Ventilation Ducting
Ventilation ducting is a critical subsystem that keeps every space aboard a vessel — from the engine room to accommodation areas, from cargo holds to switchboard rooms — operating safely and comfortably. At CMS AS, we manufacture, insulate and install galvanized steel and stainless steel ventilation ducting fully compliant with SOLAS and classification society requirements.
Manufacturing and Installation Scope
Our ventilation duct production line covers cutting, forming and joining of duct segments according to the HVAC design received from the shipyard. Fire dampers, acoustically insulated duct sections and engine room high-temperature runs are among the production items that require special attention.
- Circular and rectangular duct fabrication (spiral seam / Pittsburgh lock joints)
- Fire damper and insulation applications (including A-60 class bulkhead penetrations)
- HVAC runs for engine room, accommodation and cargo areas
- Duct pressure testing and leak-tightness verification
- Installation of hanger and support systems onto the ship structure
Standards Compliance
All our ventilation systems are manufactured to SOLAS Chapter II-2 fire safety requirements, applicable classification society rules and the shipyard's technical specification. Weld seams and gasket applications are verified through leak-tightness testing.
Why CMS AS?
Our experienced engineering and production team is able to accurately interpret complex HVAC routing from 3D models and install with high precision even within confined shipboard compartments.
