A vessel's main engine, generators, pumps and other heavy equipment cannot be mounted directly onto the hull structure; each must sit on purpose-engineered steel foundations and supports capable of safely carrying the vibration, bending and dynamic loads generated during operation. CMS AS manufactures and installs these critical structures according to engineering calculations and class-approved drawings received from the shipyard.

Quality and Precision

Because foundation structures involve sub-millimetre tolerances, 3D measurement equipment and laser alignment systems are used at every stage of manufacturing. Weld quality is verified through NDT methods appropriate to the static and dynamic load calculations involved.
