NB208 - KPS 8 Osman Bey Floating Power Plant
Outfitting fabrication works on Karadeniz Holding's KPS 8 Osman Bey at Sedef Shipyard.
On the NB208 - KPS 8 Osman Bey Floating Power Plant floating power plant, CMS AS undertook heavy steel construction and outfitting fabrication at SEDEF TERSANESİ. With an experienced engineering team and certified welders, CMS AS safeguarded dimensional accuracy and weld quality across every work item. The structural durability required for uninterrupted power generation at sea was kept at the centre of fabrication.
Scope of Work
The engineering and fabrication items undertaken:
- Outfitting: Outfitting works: fabrication and installation of piping, HVAC, deck equipment and accommodation systems.
- Steel Fabrication: Industrial steel-structure fabrication, machining and welded assembly.
Engineering & Execution
Engineering, planning and site teams worked in coordination, synchronising the block and outfitting workflow with the shipyard’s master build schedule. The heavy-load and vibration-resistance requirements of power-plant structures were met in line with design criteria. Coordination between workshop and site teams kept the work items progressing without interruption and safely.
Standards & Quality Assurance
All fabrication processes were performed under approved procedures and class-society survey. Welding was performed to WPS/WPQR-approved procedures and verified by NDT (UT/RT and visual inspection). Piping and outfitting systems were handed over after pressure testing and functional checks.
As a result, a platform serving energy supply across different geographies was safely launched. The power-generation platform was thus delivered with reliable, durable steel structures.
