Blasting-painting and outfitting works on TCG Anadolu, Turkey's largest warship, at Sedef Shipyard.

NB182 - TCG ANADOLU Multipurpose Amphibious Assault Ship (LHD) is one of the strategic naval platforms of our defence industry; on this project CMS AS took on critical steel fabrication and assembly work at SEDEF TERSANESİ. From cutting and welding to outfitting and surface treatment, CMS AS delivered an integrated, single-source solution for the project. The zero-defect mindset expected in naval shipbuilding was reflected in every step of production.

Scope of Work

The principal works carried out by CMS AS on this project:

Outfitting: Outfitting works: fabrication and installation of piping, HVAC, deck equipment and accommodation systems.
Surface & Coating: Surface preparation (abrasive blasting) and protective coating for corrosion protection.
Steel Fabrication: Industrial steel-structure fabrication, machining and welded assembly.

Engineering & Execution

Approved production drawings and cutting plans were prepared before fabrication, and material traceability, dimensional control and weld inspections were recorded throughout the process. The traceability and quality-documentation requirements specific to naval projects were fully met. Critical joints were verified by non-destructive testing (NDT) and dimensional deviations were kept within tolerance.

Standards & Quality Assurance

Every stage was carried out under the CMS AS quality-management system and the supervision of the relevant class society. Welding was performed to WPS/WPQR-approved procedures and verified by NDT (UT/RT and visual inspection). Surface preparation was to ISO 8501-1 (Sa 2½) cleanliness and the protective coating applied to an ISO 12944 system. Piping and outfitting systems were handed over after pressure testing and functional checks.

As a result, CMS AS served as a reliable supply partner in producing a platform that contributes to our national defence capability. The project was thus supported on schedule and to defence-industry quality expectations. The experience CMS AS has accumulated in shipbuilding and industrial steel since 1990 makes it a trusted solution partner for shipyards.
